Ivett Gyöngyösi's musical journey began at the age of seven. At just eleven, she was admitted to the class for exceptionally gifted young talents at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. She later continued her studies at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin, where she earned her Artist Diploma. Ms Gyöngyösi graduated with distinction from the Haute École de Musique in Geneva. Her deep passion for music extends beyond the piano: she also completed postgraduate studies in conducting in Florence and in organ in Geneva. During her training she was shaped by outstanding mentors such as Daniel Barenboim, Nelson Goerner and Ricardo Castro.

Ivett Gyöngyösi's career began at the age of nine, when she won her first piano competition. She went on to achieve remarkable success at numerous international competitions. She won the International Chopin Piano Competition in Budapest twice and, at the age of sixteen, received the renowned Georges Cziffra Prize in Vienna. That same year she won the LIONS International Music Competition and was named a “Young Steinway Artist” by Steinway & Sons in Hamburg. Further competition successes followed with First Prize and the EMCY Prize at the Vladimir Krainev International Piano Competition in Kharkiv. At eighteen she gained international recognition as “New Talent” and winner of the UNESCO Special Prize at the Euro Radio New Talent Music Competition. She later won First Prize at the Lancaster International Piano Festival and Competition in the USA, as well as First Prize and a special award for her interpretation of Chopin's mazurkas at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Darmstadt.

Ivett Gyöngyösi has performed worldwide in renowned concert halls, including the Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, the Vienna Musikverein, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, the Warsaw Philharmonic, the UNESCO Palace in Paris, the Great Hall of the Liszt Academy in Budapest, and Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. She has also been heard at numerous international music festivals, including the “Chopin and His Europe” Festival in Warsaw, the Kyoto International Music Festival, the Bellerive Festival in Switzerland, the Ravenna Music Festival, and the Chopin Festival in Marienbad.

As a soloist she has worked with renowned conductors such as Gábor Takács-Nagy, András Keller, Leoš Svárovský, Zoltán Kocsis, Tamás Vásáry and János Kovács. She has performed with orchestras such as Kremerata Baltica, Concerto Budapest, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the International Menuhin Academy Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic Pardubice, and the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Ivett is also intensely committed to charitable causes. She regularly gives benefit concerts, including at the Hungarian State Opera and the Hungarian National Institute of Oncology, in aid of children battling leukaemia and cancer. As a charity ambassador for the Young Virtuosos Foundation, she uses her art to support important social causes and to inspire young musicians.
