Benefit event given by the society's professional musician members

About the event
On this festival weekend the Chopin Society turns the spotlight on the professional pianists among its members and invites them to take part in a benefit event. All of the roughly a dozen musicians approached accepted the invitation. “Wonderful how innovative you are and how much you achieve in Darmstadt,” said Lisa Wellisch, delighted by the chance to perform at a time with so few concerts. Together with the cellist Tatjana Uhde, with whom she recorded a CD in January, she will perform Robert Schumann's “Märchenbilder”.
The piece fits into the roughly 20-minute slot available to each participant. The artists choose their own repertoire, though rarely heard works are expressly welcome. Performing are Boris Bloch, Henning Brand, Aleksandra Mikulska, Artur Pacewicz, Carmen Piazzini, Mariana Römer-Litzmann, Sabine Simon, Leoni Sklia, Laura Sobolewska, Mariko Sudo and Lisa Wellisch. The proceeds support the promotion of young talent.
