New Year's Concert with Andrzej Wierciński (PL)

Our New Year's Concert welcomes the young Polish pianist Andrzej Wierciński, “who possesses aristocratic, charismatic musical qualities that are only rarely encountered today” (Michael Moran). After the musical delicacies by F. Chopin and R. Schumann, our traditional buffet with culinary treats follows.

Andrzej Wierciński, born in Warsaw in 1995, graduated with distinction from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under Prof. Wojciech Świtała and completed a postgraduate diploma at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Prof. Pavel Gililov in 2020. In June 2024 he received the Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music London under Prof. Norma Fisher.

Andrzej has won a whole series of first prizes at numerous international competitions, including Saint-Priest, Vienna, Golden Ring (Slovenia), Budapest, Red Maple Music Toronto and Berlin. As a semi-finalist of the 18th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw (2021) he made a name for himself as a mature artist with outstanding technique.

In 2022 Andrzej played Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto at the Warsaw National Philharmonic and in 2024 Chopin's F minor Piano Concerto in Darmstadt with the Deutsche Philharmonie Merck.
