“50 Years of the Chopin Society” – Treasures: Chopin's Chamber Music

Works for piano & cello and the Piano Trio op. 8

    „50 Jahre Chopin-Gesellschaft“ – Kostbarkeiten: Chopins Kammermusik

    About the event

Chopin's works for piano and cello together with the Piano Trio op. 8, performed by Sabine Simon (piano), Romain Garioud (cello) and Kyril Terentiev (violin).

How seductively the piano genius Fryderyk Chopin could also write for duo and trio is demonstrated above all by Romain Garioud, a member of France's brilliant young generation of cellists, and by the much-awarded pianist Sabine Simon, whose task it is to master Chopin's flood of notes while preserving the sonic balance. In the piano trio, often mocked as a “little piano concerto”, the third partner is the violinist Kyril Terentiev, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory and principal concertmaster of the Rheinische Philharmonie in Koblenz.
