Two prize-winners of the Warsaw Chopin Competition as a duo

About the event
Following her sensational success at the XVII International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2015 – bronze medal and the special prize of Polish Radio for the best performance of a mazurka – Kate Liu, a student of Dang Thai Son, is a sought-after soloist on international concert stages. She has performed at the Seoul Arts Center, Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall in Cleveland and the Warsaw Philharmonic, among others.
In 2018, at the age of 20, Eric Lu won first prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition and signed an exclusive contract with Warner Classics in 2019. He has performed with the London Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic, with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Vasily Petrenko and Sir Mark Elder. His third album for Warner Classics (Schubert sonatas D 959 and 784) was named Instrumental Choice by BBC Music Magazine.
As early as 2015, aged 17, he gained international attention as a prize-winner of the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music (Robert McDonald, Jonathan Biss) and a student of Dang Thai Son.
