About the event
Dmitry Ablogin is one of the most creative and versatile musicians of his generation. A specialist in historically informed performance, he is equally at home on historical keyboard instruments and on the modern concert grand.
He is a prize-winner at numerous international competitions, including the 10th International German Piano Award, the International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments and the “Musica Antiqua” International Competition. In the 2023/24 season he made debuts at the Berlin and Cologne Philharmonie, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Edinburgh's Queen's Hall.
In October 2023 the Chopin Institute Warsaw released his album of works by Chopin, recorded on a historical 1848 Pleyel fortepiano – once Chopin's last instrument. In the winter semester of 2024/25 Dmitry Ablogin was appointed Professor of Fortepiano at the University of Music and Dance Cologne.
