The American pianist Claire Huangci, winner of first prize and of the Mozart Prize at the Concours Géza Anda 2018, captivates her audiences with “glittering virtuosity, sovereign shaping, wide-awake interaction and subtle dramaturgy of sound” (Salzburger Nachrichten). Her repertoire ranges from Bach and Scarlatti through German and Russian Romanticism to Bernstein, Gulda and Corigliano.

She has performed at Carnegie Hall New York, Suntory Hall Tokyo, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Gewandhaus Leipzig and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, as well as at festivals such as the Lucerne Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and the Klavierfestival Ruhr.

She received important inspiration from Eleanor Sokoloff and Gary Graffman at the Curtis Institute of Music and, from 2007, from Arie Vardi in Hanover. Early in her career she drew attention as a Chopin interpreter, winning first prizes at the Chopin competitions in Darmstadt and Miami (2009/2010).
