    About the event

    Yeon-Min Park was born in South Korea in 1990. After studying at the university in Seoul with Prof. Aviram Reichert, she moved to Germany in 2015, where she completed a master's degree with Prof. Bernd Goetzke at the Hanover University of Music. She is currently preparing for her concert examination in Hanover.

    Since 2014 she has received numerous national and international awards and prizes, including at the Suzhou Jinji Lake International Piano Competition 2017 in China, the 11th International Chopin Piano Competition in Darmstadt 2017, the Seoul Music Competition, the Palma d'Oro Piano Competition in Italy, the Mayenne Piano Competition in France, competitions in Hanoi and Panama and the André Dumortier Piano Competition in Belgium.

    With her broad repertoire she has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in many countries, including Korea, China, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Israel and the USA. Orchestras she has performed with include the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, orchestras in Shenzhen and Hanoi, the Chapelle Musicale de Tournai, SNU and the Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra in California.

    Romain Garioud is a prize-winner of many renowned competitions, including the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (2002), the Rostropovich Competition in Paris (2001) and first prize at the Valentino Bucchi Competition in Rome (2005).

    Today, as a soloist and professor, he regularly accepts invitations to concerts and masterclasses at home and abroad, for example at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Schubertiades (Barcelona), the Orangerie de Sceaux (France), Schloss Elmau (Germany), the Bellerive Festival (Switzerland), Mantua (Italy) and in China and South America.

    As a soloist he has performed under Christoph Eschenbach (Orchestre de Paris), Stéphane Cardon (France) and Volodymyr Sirenko (Ukraine). In October 2013 he played Lutosławski's Cello Concerto with the television orchestra at Yuri Bashmet's Festival in Minsk. In June 2016 he was invited to the “Progetto Martha Argerich” festival in Lugano and replaced Natalia Gutman in Shostakovich's First Cello Concerto with the “Casa da Música” orchestra in Porto (Portugal). In 2014 he founded the “Dorogi Trio” together with violinist Dora Schwarzberg and pianist Giuliano Mazzoccante.

    He plays an exceptional cello by Nicolai Gagliano, 1760, made available by Gabriele & Michael Andreae-Jäckering.
