About the event
Through the intensity of their expression, the variety of their tone colours and the astonishing, natural symbiosis of their musical souls, Romain Garioud and Daniela Dikova will move and enchant us this evening.
Romain Garioud is a prize-winner of, among others, the Tchaikovsky Competition Moscow (2002), the Rostropovich Competition Paris (2001) and the Valentino Bucchi Competition Rome (1st Prize 2005). Since 2018 he has taught at the Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt.
Dr Daniela Dikova is Professor of Collaborative Piano at the “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” National Academy of Music in Sofia. In 2009 her Trio Ardenza was awarded the “Crystal Lyre”, and in 2012 she received the “Golden Quill” for her contribution to Bulgarian culture.
In November 2024 the two recorded a new CD entitled “Macarons” – 10 splendid miniatures for cello and piano. A selection is presented today together with Shostakovich's Cello Sonata in D minor op. 40, marking the 50th anniversary of the composer's death.
