Carmen Piazzini (piano) and Peter Wolf (cello) perform as a duo works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann and Fryderyk Chopin.
Carmen Piazzini comes from a well-known family of musicians in Buenos Aires. Her repertoire ranges from the Classical period to contemporary music; she has recorded more than 50 CDs, including complete recordings of Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn. In 1998 and 2009 she was honoured as best pianist with the Prize of the Argentine Press, and in 2001 she received the Tortoni Prize. Her latest CD features works by Schubert, Schumann and Brahms.
Peter Wolf studied cello with Alexander Molzahn, Gerhard Mantel and, at the Mozarteum, with Heidi Litschauer. Until 2016 he was principal cellist of the HR Symphony Orchestra and a lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. He devotes special attention to chamber music, both as a performer and as a teacher.
