Young Virtuosos

About the event

Four young artists from the piano class of Prof. Aleksandra Mikulska are guests of the Chopin Society and give a taste of their artistry.

Sofiia Zakharova (2005, Kharkiv/Ukraine) has been studying in Dresden with Oriol Plans Casal since September 2023 and is preparing for the entrance examination for gifted students at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden. She has taken part in the 6th International Jenö Takács Piano Competition for Young Pianists, among others.

Kai Long Breker (Münster) began professional piano training at the age of five. He has won numerous first prizes and performed at the Cologne Philharmonic, among other venues. Since 2023 he has studied at the Saxon State Grammar School for Music in Dresden with Prof. Aleksandra Mikulska. In January 2024 he received 2nd prize at the 65th Grotrian Steinway Piano Competition in Braunschweig.

Adele-Marie Schäfer (2006, Sebnitz) has studied at the Saxon State Grammar School for Music in Dresden with Prof. Aleksandra Mikulska since 2018. She has won numerous first prizes at “Jugend musiziert” and holds scholarships from the Free State of Saxony, the Saxon Mozart Society and the Carl Bechstein Foundation Berlin.

Khrystyna Zubko (2007, Vinnytsia/Ukraine) has studied at the Saxon State Grammar School for Music with Mirjana Rajić since 2019 and with Prof. Aleksandra Mikulska since 2023. She is a prize-winner at numerous competitions, both as a soloist and in chamber music.
