11th International Chopin Piano Competition Darmstadt

Saturday, 14 October 2017 and Sunday, 15 October 2017. 1st session: 5 to 7 pm. 2nd session: 8:30 to 10:30 pm.
Each finalist plays a concerto for piano and orchestra (E minor op. 11 or F minor op. 21) as well as one of the following works for piano and cello (playing from a score is permitted): 1. Introduction et Polonaise Brillante in C major op. 3 2. Grand Duo Concertant on themes from “Robert le Diable” 3. 1st movement (Allegro moderato) of the Sonata for Cello and Piano op. 65 in G minor 4. 2nd, 3rd and 4th movements (Scherzo, Largo and Finale-Allegro) of the Sonata for Cello and Piano op. 65 in G minor
The finalists are accompanied by the ST. PETERSBURG RUSSIAN CHAMBER PHILHARMONIC under the direction of Juri Gilbo. The cellist taking part is Romain Garioud (France).
In each session, 2 works for cello and 2 piano concertos are scheduled. There are two sessions on each of the two final evenings with orchestra. Only unreserved seating is available for this 3rd round.
